⛰️Mt. Tsurugi:A Guided Hiking Adventure 🥾

Challenge Tokushima’s tallest mountain fearlessly, with a guided tour! ✨
If you’ve ever visited Mt. Tsurugi, you know of its wild nature and stunning views, but the mountain hides many secret spots you may not know about.

Guided by Trip; The River Guide of Shikoku, we discovered hidden limestone caves and drank from pure mountain streams that feed the rivers below… and then brewed coffee with that same water! ☕

Our guide also treated us to a hot meal, cooked over gas in the middle of nowhere… 😳 There’s something about having lunch in the fresh mountain air that makes food taste all the better. 😊

Moreover, this mountain hides many mysteries and legends… ✨How about a bit of trivia about the name, Mt. Tsurugi (Sword Mountain)? It’s said when the Heike clan fled to Iya Valley, the young emperor Antoku buried his reigning sword here in order to hide his identity as emperor from his enemies. He later meant to retrieve it, but succumbed to illness, and the sword was forever claimed by the mountain. Today, you can visit this spot of legend, called Katanagake-no-matsu; a fallen pine and resting place of the sword.

With a guided tour, go at your own pace and enjoy the pure nature and history of the mountain while learning the best routes to the top. ♪
