Chasing the Sea of Clouds!
The crisp morning chill of autumn causes mist to rise in the mountains and form thick, fluffy clouds that flow through the valley like silk. This is a phenomenon you can only see in deep mountainous areas, like Nishi-Awa! ♪
We've been setting off at around 5 am to try and capture these views–the most important thing is watching the weather. Rainy days are no good, but the clouds might not form if sunny days have been continuing for a while, either. Catching the Sea of Clouds is about the weather, the season, and pure luck… ⭐In my own experience, it's easier to see on a day forecast to be sunny, a few days after the rains . But then again, the clouds are ephemeral and ephemeral and have a mind of their own…😅
One morning, we headed off into the blue darkness of the mountains, driving up to the highest point at Shiozuka Highlands. Sometimes this area is wrapped in mist, but other times, it's clear and blue, and the sky looms massive above you, making you feel like you're one with the heavens. So beautiful. 💕
Even if the mists don't collect in the valley, you're bound to see a gorgeous sunrise on a clear day, so it's always worth waking up early.
Tips for chasing the Sea of Clouds:
-Check the weather forecast in advance
-Make sure you've arrived at least ten minutes before sunrise -If the viewpoint is
misty, try going down the mountain a little!

-It's easiest to see the Sea of Clouds between October to early December.
