Deep Waters of Minoda (Minoda no Fuchi)

Minoda no Fuchi is a scenic wedge of the Yoshinogawa River where the waters deepen and feed off the pure minerals contained in the surrounding rocky terrain. When the area is in full bloom late March ~ early April, many visitors flock to the area to walk along the river, enjoy flower-viewing picnics, or spend the night at the campground here. Minoda no Fuchi is right beside the Yoshinogawa Highway Oasis roadside station, so it’s a convenient stop to enjoy a breath of nature on a long journey.

Nagoro Scarecrow Village (Kakashi no Sato)

You can spot over 350 scarecrows in this deep mountain village. One woman, Ayano Tsukimi, handmade all of them and creatively placed them around the area: in the fields working, waiting at bus stops, dancing local dances, etc. She welcomes visitors to walk around the village and enter the old school to see a glimpse of the past.
