Taste the Japanese Countryside! Harvest & Local Lunch: “Honeycomb” Experience 【Iya Valley, Miyoshi City】

Feel the seasons and the beauty of the mountains in this harvest and lunch experience at a local farmhouse. Lunch features iconic dishes from Iya Valley: char-grilled stone tofu, stir-fried potatoes with miso, among others!

“Honeycomb” Experiences in Iya offer an array of activities, bringing you closer to nature and the culture of the land. In this experience, visit the home of Ms. Inooka, a farmer from Tokuzen village, and enjoy harvesting seasonal veggies and a lunch made with the rich flavours of Iya Valley. Includes char-grilled stone tofu, stir-fried potatoes with miso, and tempura made with seasonal vegetables. 

Escape the bustle of the city and immerse yourself in nature, learning more about the rich culture & cuisine and the sustainable lifestyles of the people of Iya Valley.

Cab pick-up (Oboke station to Inooka farmhouse  and back): 3,000 yen

10:00 JR Oboke Station

Meet Ms. Inooka (organizer) at the meeting point and drive to the experience site. It takes less than 10 minutes by car.

(For those coming by car) Follow after Ms. Inooka’s car.

【Experience location】

 Village of Tokuzen

Traditional-style steep slope agriculture is still in use in this charming hamlet; the locals practice sustainable agriculture, living in harmony with nature. The area is also recognized as a World Agricultural Heritage Site.
