Hiking Season! Shuttle Bus Service to Mt. Tsurugi will Start Soon!

Shuttle bus services for hiking will begin on Saturday, April 19.
During the spring hiking season, two routes, the “Route Sadamitsu - Ichiu ” and the “Route Ikeda -Higashi Iya,” will be available to tour around Mt Tsurugi. Both routes are connected to the JR station, and parking is available for people transferring from their own cars to the buses.
Mt. Tsurugi is a 2,000-meter-high peak, the second-highest peak in western Japan, and one of the 100 most famous mountains in Japan, however, you can easily enjoy hiking the mountain by using the mountain lift. It is a 15-minute lift ride up, and from there it is about an hour walk to the summit!
Please take the shuttle bus and experience the spring scenery of “Nishi-Awa”.

1. [Route Sadamitsu – Ichiu] *Notice: Suspension of Mt. Tsurugi Climbing Bus Service(24th June 2025)

*The bus stop:Roadside Station Yuyu-kan is located in the parking on the south (NOT along Route 192).
Please be careful not to get on other buses.
・ Shuttle bus: Laforet Tsurugisan ⇔ Minokoshi is also operated for visitors to take a rest or staying at Laforet Tsurugisan.
Due to road damage caused by a collapse on June 23, Route 438 (around Nakano area in Ichiu, Tsurugi Town) is currently completely closed to traffic. There is a detour route (Nakano–Koyadaira Line), but the Mt. Tsurugi climbing bus via Sadamitsu and Ichiu, scheduled to run from July 5, will be temporarily suspended. The bus service will resume once the road is repaired and safe to use. For the latest updates, please check:
